GRANDAD'S SLIDES (PART 73) - MYSTERIOUS BLUE BOX

SLIDES 0541-0549

Switzerland, 1957

Another set of fairly general tourist-y views, and pictures of people who I never knew and don't know how to identify, and possibly never will.

Nevertheless, there remain several points of interest including my Grandmother, the cold assassin, armed with her "holiday handbag" standing next to a flowerbed; an interesting street corner featuring an exotic tram of the kind you sometimes still see in spy movies; two jolly-looking cafe scenes and a third with my Grandfather looking outraged in a manner only he really knew how to; the inside of a church or cathedral; some washing on a line in an unbelievably picturesque spot; another bonkers street scene featuring some fabulous old cars and a coach waiting for "something" to happen; and some people standing with my Grandmother in front of a fountain which fails to resemble in any way that one in Geneva at the start of "The Champions".

  1. The trees framing that cafe scene are perfectly placed. What a painting it could make.
