LESSON IN DEPRESSION

LESSON IN DEPRESSION

On another blue Blue Monday
Years clicking around around predictably
Yet one more day dawns hopelessly defeated
Another dawn’s day dawning without a victory
Achingly surrounded by the joyous joy of those
Who won’t ever understand that you’re in pieces
Who can’t be bothered bothering to understand
You’ll never ever know knowing what peace is
Whilst you just sit there knowably knowing

Knowing one day you’re going to die
Like one day soon you’re going to die
You think you’d be more pro-active
Becoming all motivated by the fear
But the fear itself has swallowed you
Leaving you to wallow in life’s stew

On another blue Blue Monday
You wonderingly wonder how to tell the tale
Of this nonsense sense of emptied emptiness
Flat and bitter bitterness your despairing fails
Whilst all the worldwide world is dancing dances
Engagingly engaging and being so alive
Not getting to the point of getting simply why
You’ll never ever feel such feelings in your life
Wondering if anyone is able to feel feelings

Feeling one day you’re going to die
Like one day soon you’re going to die
They think you’d be more pro-active
Becoming all motivated by the fear
But fearing fear itself has eaten you
Knowing that living is defeating you

On another blue Blue Monday
Your thoughts turning turn to moments lost
When you dared to dream dreams unattainable
Then gave away giving them up at such a heavy cost
Eventually events turning turn in inwardly inwards
Dwelling upon the pain of opportunities missed
Calving icy icebergs crash crashing all around
The dreams you dreamt devoured by time’s mist
Clinging without hope to any hopeless hope

Hopeless that you’re going to die
That one day soon you’re going to die
They think you’d be more pro-active
Becoming all motivated by the fear
Now the fear of fear itself has taken you
All thoughts of hope hopelessly forsaking you

On another blue Blue Monday
On another blue Blue Monday
