HURRICANE-Y

HURRICANE-Y

Howling gales
Lashing thrashing rain
Darkness lit by headlamps

Branches thrashing
To then come crashing
Plantpots flying around

It all got a little bit
Hurricane-y
There for a while

Opaque rain sheets
In wave-like curtains
Spotlit by vague streetlights

Sudden streams
Follow the kerbside
Ribbed for our displeasure

It all got a little bit
Hurricane-y
There for a while

World's invisible
Suddenly revealed
Then vanishing once more

Dawn sun hidden
By pools of black ink
Dissolving in sky's jar

It all got a little bit
Hurricane-y
There for a while

In another place
Time comes crashing down
Pathway glass sparkling

Flung out of place
A lost Christmas tree
Pointing towards escape

It all got a little bit
Hurricane-y
There for a while

Between pauses
Owl-like hooting
Punctuates screaming wind

Leaves resettle
Pools find new levels
Cold calmnesses returning

It all got a little bit
Hurricane-y
There for a while
