Sucked in by a supermarket flyer,
Which promised many a bargain
Offered by a cheaply printed lie.
Ah! The thrill of the hunt!
Getting up at the crack of dawn
In search of a discount
That was never going to be there.
Ah! The thrill of the hunt!
Seeking out stock which was never delivered
And forlornly departing
Both empty-handed and disappointed.
Ah! The thrill of the hunt!
But there’s the wretched disclaimer
Not all products available in all stores
Or perhaps merely (*While stocks last).
Ah! The thrill of the hunt!
Feeling so foolish at
Falling for the empty promises
Of a marketing executive’s dream.
