WISHFUL THINKING

I’m utterly dismayed –

I’ve forgotten, or mislaid

Or maybe someone took…?

My poetry notebook

Some people might sigh in relief

Or wish to thank such a clever thief

For there are those who might hope to see

An end to my so-called “poetry”

Pssst! You may want to pass the word around

Because the wretched thing’s been found…!
