RESTRAINING ORDER

RESTRAINING ORDER

She’s terrified
Of her abusive partner
So her grown-up daughter
Sleeps there every night

The police aren’t
Able to come and help her
A restraining order
Would cost them three grand

No injunction
Is in place to prevent him
Committing violence
On all womankind

Legal aid’s not
Around these days to help out
Women finding themselves
In this sorry state

If it goes on
There may well be a murder
Not just upon these two
But hundreds more

Many others
Live in this predicament
Vulnerable victims
How many must die?
