AVENGING...

Ah… it appears that nobody will ever join in with the games that play constantly inside my head…

I’ve hoped for and waited all week for anyone who’s a Mrs Somebody-or-other to comment upon my blogs about “The Avengers” just so that I could make false promises about perhaps turning up on their doorstep all dressed up in my best bib and tucker, saying “Mrs [INSERT SURNAME HERE] we’re needed!” and dashing off with them to battle chastely with a diabolical mastermind or two before getting them home unscathed and in time for a teatime champagne picnic…

Alas, it seems that it’s not to be.

Sadly, there have been no takers.

Mind you, there aren’t all that many people called Mrs “Insert Name-Here” in the phone book these days, are there…?

Or enough people who’d understand a proper “Avengers” reference when they see it…

(Sigh!)

You know that you’re getting on a bit when hardly anybody seems to understand your own “Pop culture” references any more… :-(
