I’ve hardly got anything done
The weekend went by
In the blink of an eye
And I spent no real time in the sun.
How can it be Monday already?
The days seemed to go far too fast.
I never know
Where the days go
Or quite how to make them last.

It was Friday the last time I looked
I just turned away
For less than a day
Now it’s gone and I think that it sucks.
How can it be Monday already?
What happened to both of those days?
First Saturday went
Then Sunday was spent
It all seems a bit of a haze.
How can it be Monday already?
I’ve got to go back in to work
That “In Tray” won’t wait
That project is late
How could I have had time to shirk?
How can it be Monday already?
Those weekends they just fly away
There’s not time for fun
Or to get things done
Perhaps we should have a third day…?
