POST BOX

POST BOX

Last week I noticed
On a wall near to a junction
A dilapidated Post Box
Blocked off with wood

I thought to myself
That would make a good photograph
I’ll have to go back next week and
Take its picture

This week I returned
With a camera in my car
To find three-way traffic control
At that junction

The row of houses
Were covered with scaffolding poles
Orange traffic cones and builders
Were all around

Now for that Post Box
Its dilapidated glory
Must now remain unphotographed
As it’s restored

A lesson is learned
Seize your moment, because the best
Photograph is always the one
That got away
