Dense fog gripping, holding, choking
Streetlights glowing orange
Fizzing through the dark
In this old mill town
Fresh painted with shadowed
Nooks and crannies
It all feels so
Suddenly
Hideously
Victorian
Fallen mist pulsing, glowing, lurking
Darkness hiding figures
Flitting through the shadows
Do rippers creep
Through these clouded streets -
Blades sharpened
Ready to pounce?
Suddenly
Terrifyingly
Vulnerable
Thick clouds blinding, tightening, dazzling
Country lanes choked white
Crawling through the dawn
Heading for the lights
Fingertips of night seep in
At freezing point
Chugging along
So slowly
Carefully
Progressing
