GRANDAD'S SLIDES (27) - WOODEN BOX 2 - SS CANBERRA 1965 (PHOTOBLOG)

SLIDES 0296-0301

Cairo, probably... The place certainly has that familiar "city in the desert by a river" and "road through the desert" air, and, as it's followed by a set of pictures taken at the museum of Antiquities when they still allowed that sort of thing (stay tuned, folks!),  I'd say it's not the worst guess.

It seems a nice hotel. It speaks of a couple of days' excursion away from the ship, and all of that sort of thing. Must have been quite an adventure...

Unless, of course, you know different...

  1. You know with those road picyures you grandad really should have been an album cover designer. Maybe he was a closet graphicisto and you are the resulting specimen.

    1. I don't think he'd have approved of all that modern rocknerroll music...

    2. I don't know? I've seen his matching shorts and shirt set. He may have been a closet creative! ;-)
