MARR PATEL

MARR PATEL

We apologise for
The reckless sin
Of not recognising
Your rictus grin

Turned out it was
A harmless smirk
At the expense of those
Who may lose work

But even to suggest
That you might laugh
Was quite absurdly
A ridiculous gaffe

For we all know
That face so stony
Often fails to betray
Those thoughts so phoney

Unless of course
You're prone to mock
Anyone who ends up
Behind key and lock

Yet your eyes might twinkle
At a barely hidden hope
You'll get to bring back
That savage hemp rope

MAWH, 231019
