Building things up from nothing
Only to smash them down again

Grinding everything back to dust

Putting in such effort
To gain an upper hand
For a fleeting moment in time

Jealously guarding what they have
Ambitiously eyeing what they haven't
Craving what someone else has got
In their darkest hearts
Human beings

Becoming the darkest they can
Instead of reaching for the light
Taking their moment of precious life
To break another's heart

Full of rage and anger
Furiously shouting at lost dreams
In their own small sliver of time
