11. PARCELS

The story so far, parcelled up into convenient bite-sized chunks…

There was a young rogue name of Stu,
“He’s a villain!” That everyone knew.
He came up with a wheeze,
To pilfer some trees,
And caused a right how-do-you-do.

A lad name of Chris had a drink,
Joined a crime ’cos he just didn’t think.
Caught red-handed was he,
But Stan heard his plea,
And he didn’t end up in the clink.

Carol, a former barmaid,
Was a nurse who was much underpaid.
Thought an outfit petite,
Might give Chris a treat,
But there’s no chance of him getting laid.

A lonely young girl known as Eve,
Loved her Stu even though he would leave.
Whilst he had meagre charms,
She fell into his arms,
With a passion no-one could believe.

Gamekeeper Stan saw rogues three,
And thought “They’d best not mess with me!”
He avoided a fight,
In the depths of the night,
When a shot in the air made them flee.

A Constable name of Golightly
Saw a light in the night shining brightly
He thought “What is this?
I’ll check on that Miss.”
These things can’t be treated too lightly.

I started a tale rather rambling
That might engage folk I was gambling
But it got at best
Much dis-int-er-est
So I don’t think I’ll finish the damn thing.
